i don't know why this happens, but it only happens with PT (not with slacker, viigo, or any other apps as far as i can tell). every time i open PT since upgrading to 5.0.x on my 8900, it asks me to re-save the permissions. it doesnt' matter if i set them to default or not. it's not a super critical issue, but it is kinda annoying, especially because i frequently want to shut down in order to backup my settings, but then have to get that series of permission reminders every time i reopen. this has happened on multiple 5.0.0.x OS's (238, 502, 554, 592)

Yeah, it's an OS bug, though I haven't figured out where/what is causing it.
If you say 'No' it won't ask again and should continue to work, it's just reporting bad permissions back to PT. Though this brings up a good point, I should be saving backups periodically (daily?) even while it's running.

i definitely agree with that (saving backups periodically) - that ensures that any changes i make before a crash are still there when i get back in. i think that would be useful.
