PT Switches to the internal speaker

New postby rca on Thu Apr 08, 2010 6:38 am

Starting a couple of days ago, when I pause a podcast and
then un-pause it, the audio switches to the speaker on my
BB Storm and not the headset. It also happens when I receive an
email and podtrapper pauses itself while the BB Beeps.

To get the audio back in the headset, need to unplug the headset,
plug it back in, and wait a couple of seconds.

I just noticed this starting the other day, and it hasn't happened with
other apps? Any ideas?

This is similar to what is happening to me with my 8530. Whenever I pause PT and then resume I have to use the volume up/down keys to be able to hear it. Mine actually mutes the podcast, but it is still playing and I'm missing content. The same thing happens when I use the camera or get any notification that has a sound. I listen with a Motorola H710. When I contacted Marcus about this, he indicated it was an OS issue. I'm on 5.0.0.508.

For routing issues you may try the 'Continuously set output mode' setting in Playback settings. Let me know if that doesn't work...

I'm having the same problem and changing the setting to Always Keep seeting output mode does not fix it.

Hi RLBrady,

Hvae you manually set an output mode on the 'Select Output' screen? (It won't work for 'OS Managed')

Just download the latest trail version to my Tour (BB 9630)

Playback settings:
Buffer: No
Keep setting output mode: Alway

Select output: Headset

Issue: sounds go from my headset to the speaker and back again.

I played the same podcast (NPR Car talk) using hte native Media Player and had no problem.

Ok, I'll add some more logging in the next release and see what I can find. They've been breaking all sorts of stuff in the latest CDMA OS releases, though, so I'm not sure how much I'll be able to fix :(
