Lost podcasts after upgrading Storm to .86

New postby wdcbrucefan on Wed Jan 14, 2009 1:36 pm

When I upgraded to .86, all the podcasts that I have in Podtrapper disappeared. They're still on the SDcard, 'cause I can see them in the "media player." (But, by my setting in podtrapper, they're not supposed to show up in media player...)

Anyone else have this problem after making the upgrade to .86?

I don't want to have to readd each podcast; adjust settings for each; lose the playlist I had setup; etc. etc.

I haven't yet bought the license for the program. Still running thru my trial 30 days.

Note: I cross posted this to crackberry.com at http://forums.crackberry.com/showthread ... ost1413189

Hi,

What version does it show in the About screen? (There was an issue with 1.6.0, but it should be fixed in 1.6.2). Also, how did you upgrade? If you uninstall PodTrapper (even to upgrade), your blackberry will detect that there's no software using its settings store and deletes the settings for the app. (The only way to keep settings is to install over the original version, which accomplishes the same thing but the blackberry knows to keep the settings around).

Definitely let me know,

I just opened PodTrapper and got the 'new version available' box. So I'm upgrading to 1.6.3 now. (I was running 1.5.11.)

When I did the upgrade to .86 OS, I didn't wipe the BB.

Thanks for the fix.

Ok, it should have kept your settings (and I've had reports of that working from other users), so I may have to chalk it up to a version issue or random happening. Definitely let me know if you see any other oddities.

I just upgraded to .90 and the podcasts stayed in the right place. Success!

Great news, although I've heard reports of the media player built into .90 being a bit flaky. Just wanted to give you a heads up so you don't think it's PodTrapper ;)
