Sorting in playlists

New postby FreydNot on Tue Aug 24, 2010 2:21 am

I've been using PT for a long time, but I've only started using playlists since I moved to the Android version. I keep a single (default) playlist and all of my regular podcasts add themselves to the play list.

There are two podcasts which I want to be sorted differently. Tech News Today I want to always hear the most recent episode first. The Tobolosky Files I always want to hear oldest unlistened to episode first.

I have my sort set to Playback Priority, then Episode Order, then Podcast Name.

Is there any way to get both to work in opposite ways in the same playlist? Do I have to split it out to two playlists?

This would be quite tricky, actually. What if one of the sort modes was 'Display position'? Then you could invert the sort on one of your podcasts, and it would sort on that. Would that work?

I'd like to see this same feature implemented. Since PT remembers the sorting order for each podcast (yay!), your solution sounds like a good one.
