locator does not reference a valid media file

Hi,
Using PT on a BB9700. Almost exclusively for audiobooks but occasionally for music.
I have listened to approx 10 books and now this error (see title) occurs.

I delete the audiobooks from my microSD card as soon as I am finished with them.

Now, listening to a new audiobook...after every chapter, the view of an old, deleted chapter appears and the error message pops up.

I have to manually click ok...backtrack to the file listing....click on the next available chapter and then click play.

It would be nice to get the continuous audiobook play going again.

How can I clean out the old chapter? I can't find it on explorer anywhere on the phone or SD card.

Anyone have this problem before?

tia

Hmm, when you run into that error, can you try the 'Play in BBMP' menu item and see if the built in player is capable of playing it? If it is, it's likely a bug in PodTrapper somewhere, but if it can't, it's likely either not a format the BB can play, or it's a corrupted file.

Let me know...

Thanks for getting back to me on this.
I don't know if I've explained the problem well enough.

I listen to audiobooks quite a bit on my 9700. Once I have finished the book, I delete all the files off the phone.

So, I am now listening to another audiobook but when a mp3 file finishes, Podtrapper errors out and shows me the final chapter file of the previous audiobook! I'm sure I deleted all files off the phone .... so it's no wonder the error is about a bad reference.

Is a re-installation a possibility? Would that clean out any bad data in the Podtrapper files?

tia.

Well, that did fix it! A simple re-installation. Now the audiobook progresses through the chapters with no errors....so far, after 3 chapters.
Cheers.

Hmm, I'm definitely glad it worked, but re-installation is generally a red herring for a reboot. It can, in rare cases change something, but usually it's just the reboot that helped. At any rate I'd definitely be interested in seeing your logs if you run into it again...

Via the 'Email Developer' menu item.
