Migrate BB -> Droid, Purchase from Mktplace?

Hi all. I am migrating from a paid PT on a BB Tour to a HTC Inspire on ATT. I tried to install the Android app via the OTA site but since i am on ATT I cannot install non-market apps. When I attempt to get podtrapper from the market, it says it's $6.99 and directs me to google check out. I've not purchased an app from mktplace yet so i don't know if it's just prompting me to enter one, and there is going to be an option later to add my registration code or what.

So basic question is, how do i get PT loaded without having to purchase again?

Unfortunately I don't have a solution for this on AT&T yet. It's not possible for me to allow downloads of the app without purchasing via the market, and they block sideloading.

It is possible to sideload via the dev kit, but that's beyond what I'd expect an end user to do. Sorry I don't have a better answer for you :(

Sort of along the same lines, is there any way that I can make the Android Market aware that I have a licensed copy (so I can rate it, and also for easy downloads) since I transfered it from a BB?

No, but I definitely wish there was. There's no way to gift or mark you as a paid user manually, unfortunately :(

Marcus mentioned sideloading as a possible solution... here is a pretty simple way to do it that doesn't require installing the Android Development Kit: http://forum.androidcentral.com/android-sideload-wonder-machine/76171-android-central-sideload-wonder-machine-v-1-2-a.html
