Bug for long duration files

New postby mikelds on Sat Jun 04, 2011 11:16 am

I use PodTrapper to both listen to podcasts and audiobooks. Many of the audiobook files are up to 8.5 hours long. There is a bug where if PodTrapper plays a file more than ~7 hours long, it starts having all sorts of issues. The timestamp stops while the audio still plays and randomly jumps around while the playback is normal. If I pause the book, it resets back to the time where the problem started (can't tell since the time messes all up once it hits this part, but around 7 hours into the book). So, for the last 1.5 hours of listening, I have to do it straight without pausing or I have to start all over. If I hit one of the fast forward buttons, it goes back to the problem point. I am running on a BB 9700 with v5.0.0.296. I purchased PodTrapper because I do not ever have large amounts of uninterrupted free time to listen and PodCaster can remember my place in whatever I'm listening to.

Thanks,
Michael

Hi there,

Sadly this is an OS bug on BB. Variable bit rate files will start to get wonky after a time. The only 'fix' is to re-encode the files with a constant bit rate. Sorry I don't have a better answer for you :(
