startup time

New postby mikew on Tue Feb 03, 2009 2:29 pm

I have noticed that podtrapper takes a long time to start after a battery pull reset. When starting the application, podtrapper goes through its startup screens and hangs at 91% for a few seconds and then completes that process. Next it displays the normal podcast listing screen and gives me a flipping hourglass. This hourglass lasts for up to 25 minutes and renders the phone un-usable until it is done.

I am using podtrapper version 1.6.7 on my curve 8330 with firmware 4.3.0.127. I have noticed this similar problem in earlier versions of podtrapper as well.

Is anyone having this same issue?

This is a RAM issue, generally (the hour glass is a sign that your device is out of memory and your blackberry is trying to free space).

I talked about it in my previous post, but I'll definitely get on it and it'll come in the form of an option to limit the total number of episodes kept in podtrapper at any given time.
