Java IO Exception when downloading..

New postby MrSimmonsSr on Mon Feb 23, 2009 10:01 am

I have noticed that within the last week I have somehow managed to put my PodTrapper installation into a strange state where it seems to be able to download RSS feeds with no problems, but once it starts trying to download the embedded MP3 files it regularly gets java IO exceptions. I'm not sure if this is truly a network issue, or if the data on my SD card is in some strange state that is contributing to this problem..

The exact error message I get on the desktop downloader is as follows:

HubAddress: \DosDevices\HCD2\1
Power: 500
DeviceName: \\?\usb#vid_0fca&pid_0004&mi_00#6&31feb8a6&0&0000#{80375827-83b8-4a51-b39b-905fedd4f118}
Opening Channel: PodtrapperUSB
Client successfully connected

The request has timed out.
Sending error:
 w
Function call out of order

And the error I see on the screen is:

Permanent Download Failure:
java.io.IOException: Invalid HTTP response..

This usually occurs after quite a few things have downloaded ok.. But then nothing else works in that download session..

Any suggestions?

Marcus, I've just noticed that PodTrapper is dying sometimes on my Curve as well. I will get a message on my BB that says "Unhandled Exception, the PodTrapper Application is not responding. It will be terminated"..

Do you think that is related? If not, how can I get you some better output for debugging purposes?

Thanks for all you do!

The not responding thing is likely a memory issue, hopefully it'll get better in the next release (I'm putting together graphs and stuff to try to find it now).
