Storm screen saver whilst playing vodcasts

New postby Aussie_Nick on Tue Jun 02, 2009 4:21 pm

Hi,

I upgraded to the new version (love the updates!) but now when I watch a vodcast the screen saver comes on after 10 seconds.
Is there a way that I can turn that off?

Thanks - and love this app! I actually haven't touched my Ipod in months...

What do you mean by screen saver?

If you mean the backlight timeout then change your setting to something higher like 45 seconds until the next beta release which should fix that. It's a bug recently discovered and Marcus already knows and is working on it.

Oh ok cool - will wait out and just keep rubbing (or caressing) the screen 'till the fix :)

What I meant was, if you change your backlight timeout, you won't have to keep touching your screen to keep it alive. Then when the new release with the fix comes out, you can put your backlight timeout back to your preferred setting.

This is curious. I watched a 45 minute vodcast last night without ever seeing my Storm screen saver. I've running latest Podtrapper and Storm OS 4.7.0.148.

That's because you haven't changed your backlight timeout settings before you upgraded your podtrapper. (Assuming you had podtrapper before and this wasn't your first install.)

In some of our cases, we have changed our backlight timeout and podtrapper doesn't update with the new settings, so for now we have to put the backlight timeout setting back to what it was when podtrapper was working correctly until Marcus updates with the fix. This problem is only temporary and should be fixed in the next update.

I just posted a new beta (2.1.1) that attempts to fix this once and for all, I'd love if you guys can tell me if it does[n't] work.

Grab it here.

I just downloaded the Beta, and it seems to fix the issue of the screen saver kicking in. Just watched a full cast (~45min) without any issues, thanks for the fix.
