Limit memory useage?

I know there are a couple of settings to limit the number of downloads per podcast, which is fine up to a point, but is there a way to set an overall memory limit for downloads? It is difficult to predict exactly how much memory the downloads will take, even with the per-podcast limits set, and it is quite possible that you'll end up using up more memory than you really wanted... especially problematic when using internal memory... podcatcher just seems to keep downloading stuff to fill all available memory! Would seem to be sensible to build in some setting/logic to limit the overall memory used.

Hi Mike,

I can probably add a setting for free space to keep on the device (so that Podtrapper won't fill it completely). Would that work?

That would seem sensible to me, so that one can be sure that podcatcher won't use up more memory than expected with a couple of enormous podcast downloads. The way things are at present, it's a bit of an inexact science to guess how much space will be left once podcatcher has done its stuff.

Hi again,

I just pre-released 1.6.12, it adds a setting to keep a certain amount of free space available, wanna check it out and let me know if it works for you?
