Ramp up volume to eliminate load "click" at start of play

New postby bigjosh on Fri Dec 12, 2008 1:33 pm

I've noticed I get a very loud "click" when I start playing a podcast using PodTrapper.

Is it possible to have the software programatically set the volume to zero just prior to starting playback, then ramp up to the desired volume during the next second or so?

Maybe this would suppress that "click", which can be really jolting.

Thanks again for absolutely great product and support!

Hi Josh,

Sorry for the late response, last week I was on vacation :)

I added that to the todo list, it'll probably make the release on Monday or Tuesday. Thanks for the suggestion, keep them coming!

Hi Josh,

So I looked into trying to do this, and the built in player is flaky enough that I don't really want to push it into this. Sorry :(

Hi Mike,

I've never heard it, but I assume it's a hardware issue on some models. At any rate, it's not really feasible to fix it.

1.5.5 was released about 30 min ago :)
