another vote for proxy support for desktop downloader!!

New postby jamez613 on Thu Aug 13, 2009 6:10 pm

My workplace just implemented a proxy to get to the internet and now I can't download using the desktop downloader anymore :(

This was such an awesome feature and it really sucks to not have it - any chance of this getting implemented anytime soon??

Btw - podtrapper rocks otherwise :)

Cheers

Hi there,

As of 1.3 (of the Desktop app) it should automatically use whatever proxy Internet Explorer is using.

Is that not working for you?

I didn't even realize that it had been updated, the download page still says 1.2!

Just downloaded 1.3 and I got it working - thanks!

One thing though: my work uses a automatic proxy configuration script (this gets set by default when I log on) and it doesn't work with that. I had to manually change my proxy settings in IE to point to the actual proxy server. I have a feeling I will need to do this every time I want to use the desktop downloader. It would be awesome if you could add an option in the downloader to set the proxy manually!

Whoops, thanks. I'll get that fixed.

I think I can actually use that, I'll put it on my todo list to check out.
