With the marathon help of a couple of users (thanks dx169 and Red261) I tracked down a race condition with convenience keys and popup issue. I'm 100% sure it's finally fixed. Really. I swear.

be safe say 51% sure, over half but low enough that no one can be mad if everything fails miserably
