Hi all,

I just finished pushing out PodTrapper 2.5.0 to all of the various retailers (including here at VersatileMonkey.com).

For those of you that have been keeping up with the betas, nothing has changed since the last beta, but for those that haven't there's quite a few changes. (See the end of this message for the complete list).

Your PodTrapper will alert you when it checks for updates next, but if you don't want to wait grab it here:
http://ota.versatilemonkey.com/podtrapper/

Thanks for using PodTrapper, and stay tuned for version 2.5.1 which I'm sure I'll be releasing in a matter of hours after people start seeing issues ;)

FYI: Been using 2.5.0 for a day and everything is working well for me. I do get the same hang (of about 20 seconds) when I first start PT when it gets to "Loading playlist..." Hangs at 85% for a bit. Not a problem but submitting as info in case that might help.

Thanks again. Off for a vacation in a few days and super excited that my travel time will be filled with my favorite podcasts.

Hmm, my guess there is it's just parsing a big playlist (and likely one with a lot of external files). How big are your playlists?

Thanks so much. I have been using podtrapper for quite a while and I was glad to see several of my minor gripes fixed and some great new features incorporated. Keep up the great work and thanks so much!

Nobody ever asked me that!

Indeed, they are outsize. I even had to get a 16GB SDHC card for my BB 8830 to hold everything! I don't mind the wait, per se. Just wondered since it always shows 85% done for a while.

Thanks.

Great job. Love the "rewind after pausing" setting.

One question -- if I choose "view downloaded only" for a podcast the item doesn't display if it the epsiode list is empty. Or did I change a setting? I would still like to see the podcast listing even if it there are no episodes. This wasn't the case in the previous betas.

Hi Bellemead,

I'm not quite sure what you mean here, can you elaborate a bit? What's not showing up?

If I delete the last eprisode and have choosen "view downloaded only", the listing for the podcast in the main screen no longer appears until a new episode is downloaded.

For example, if I have a podcast set to keep 1 download and max to autodownload to 1 and delete the last epsiode the podcast no longer displays in the main screen. It reappears when there is a new episode is downloaded.

Previously, the empty podcast was displayed in the main screent even though there were no episodes to display.

On my Storm I no longer have the menu option to Open the highlighted Podcast. Instead, Podtrapper defaults to "Download Episode". The only way I can open an episode is via the touch screen. I liked the old method of having the correct menu options highlighted so I could just continuously press the menu button until the episode started.

Hmm, sounds like you may have it the 'View only w/Eps' on the main screen. You should now see a 'View All' in the main screen menu. If you hit that they should show back up. Let me know if not.

Heh, I didn't even know the menu button works for menu item selection. Learn something new every day :) My thoughts here were to reduce some of the clutter in the menus, but this makes sense. I'll add it back. Thanks for letting me know.

Yes, you were (of course) correct: I chose View All and the missing lisitngs reappeared.

Now, I searched the help files and the forums and can't find what View w/Ready eps means. Please forgive my ignorance but I am trying to learn the system and find that it can be difficult to find the answers to my questions.

My fault,

I haven't updated the docs for the new version yet. It's on my todo list but I haven't had a chance. Sorry about that.

Marcus,

Your app has been my favorite app that I have on my Storm for many months now. I don't actually use it for Podcast, but it's great for audio books. I was wondering something about this latest version. When first started up, it now always has this long text message sitting on top of the File Playback screen that says "You don't have any podcast but there appears to be......."

Is there a way to make this not appear?
