New PodTrapper Beta (2.5.2)

Hi guys,

After a bit of a hiatus here's another beta. This one fixes a few issues that have cropped up, some with OS 5.0, others with media playback. It implements a completely new mechanism for loading media into the player, so there may be bugs, but this should provide a more robust playback experience during interruptions.

I'd love for as many people who want to to test this one out, since such a fundamental change is likely to introduce oddities somewhere.

I'll be working on actual features this weekend, but wanted to get the media thing in your hands as soon as possible to get as much testing out of it as I can.

Here's the complete changelog:
2.5.2 (Nov 21, 2009)

* Revamped media engine to better handle file system interruptions
* Switch to alerting only when queue is empty and we have a new download, not after each download
* Don't ask this again for setting permissions (Choose 'No' when it asks)
* Run on startup will now continually check for SD card availability
* Fixed small memory leak
* Cleaned up some unnecessary garbage creation

When I try to download the OS 5.0 version, the download confirmation page shows the version as 2.5.1.

Usually that's a cache issue, can you try clearing it and see if that helps?

Same result. The version in the About screen shows 2.5.2, it's just the version of the jad file.

You can grab one of the other ones, (4.7 or similar), there's no difference at this point so it won't hurt anything.

The OS 5.0 install according the PodTrapper About screen is the 2.5.2 version but if I look in the BB Applications screen it says the version is 2.5.1.

I kept getting errors every time I had to pause and restart an episode. I had to roll back to 2.5.0.

It said the file was corrupt and I should consider re-downloading the episode. But I just hit play again and it played.

Thanks!

Really interested to see if this solves some of the 100% played problems.

I had problems with 2.5.2 on my Tour 9600 running an OS 5.0 hybrid. There were no error messages but I could not get any podcasts to play. Tried pressing space bar, menu->play and the play icon on the screen. Had to revert back to 2.5.0. Working good with 2.5.0.

I just posted 2.5.3, can you guys try that and let me know what you find? If you do run in to any issues, can you shoot me a copy of your logs before going back to the production release?

Thanks!
