Hi all,

I just posted a new beta with a lot of bug fixes:
http://ota.versatilemonkey.com/beta/

Here's the list of changes:
* Fixed download queue continously attempting when out of coverage
* Fixed 'Move to Top' in download queue only moving to second place
* Reset duration to current position if we've previously expanded the duration blindly and receive an END_OF_MEDIA
* Throttle download manager to not respond to every network event (was causing battery issues on some phones)
* Prevent main screen from scrolling errantly
* Fixed saying 'no' to discard partial download wouldn't queue the download
* Better handle file i/o discrepencies
* Better handling of resumed files (less corruption?)
* Cancelled downloads now properly remove from the download queue display
* Don't display storm popup if we're not in compat mode
* Attempt to auto-detect when buffered playback can't work on a device
* Fixed convenience key handling on OS 5.0

Wow, can you tell my text editor doesn't have spell check? Heh.

Anyway, this should fix some of the issues you've been having with 2.6 like convenience keys and auto-deletion not happening. Plus more reliability all around.

Let me know how it works for you.

Marcus,

I'm running this version now and I love being able to control pausing/playing from my headset. I've got a Storm 2 (9550) and have noticed that on all previous versions (2.5.1 was the latest I have run), I've always been able to quickly press the mute button on my phone (top right button) and have play stop/start. When I say "quickly," I'm not referring to any Superman type of speed, just a normal press and release. In this version, if I'm playing an audio book and quickly press the button, I get a short interruption of play, then it keeps on going. If it's already paused, a quick press gives me about a half second of play, then back ot being paused. I actually have to hold the button down now for about 1 second for it to truly stop or start play. This is not any kind of a show stopper, but I thought I'd let you know.

Hmm, I thought I had fixed those issues, but I guess I missed a case.

If you wouldn't mind, could you see what cases it happens?

The things I'd like to test are:
When PT is in the foreground,
When PT is in the background, and
When the device is locked

Also, can you send me a copy of your logs after seeing it happen? All of that should help me track down where it's going awry.

Thanks!

You got it. I'll run your test in a few minutes and send you the logs.

OK..I sent it (with logs).

I ran the test in the order you listed:

The things I'd like to test are:
When PT is in the foreground,
When PT is in the background, and
When the device is locked

With each test, I pressed the mute button first in a normal press and release fashion, which did not work in all 3 test. Then I pressed and held for approx one second, which worked in all 3 test. Then I moved on to the nest test and repeated the normal press, followed by a one second press and hold. Results were identical for all 3 test. I sent you the logs immediately after the test, without having closed PodTrapper.

If you need to to try anything else, let me know.
Grey

Help! I'm experiencing the same issue. When the Blackberry is in Keyboard Lock mode, pressing Mute key (which use to play or pause) now does both at the same time... so you cannot actually pause if it's playing, or play if it paused. Is there a place where I can get version 2.6.0 to revert to temporarily?

Let me know if not.
(Thanks, Grey, btw, for the logs, they helped)
