Podtrapper locks up after pausing or switching books

I have a new Blackberry Tour on Verizon. I use podtrapper to listen to mp3 audiobooks. When I pause the book and come back later to continue the book, none of the keys work and I cant get it to play. If i change files and try to listen to another book or chapter it will do the same thing. The only solution is to exit podtrapper and restart every time want to start listening an audiobook. I sent some logs but can send more if you like.

Do you notice any patterns in what will cause the initial lockup?

It locks up every time i pause a file that I'm listening to and then go to another file. Pod trapper still works so its not a full lockup, but no files will play after this point and the application will need to be restarted. Also just pausing the file and coming back a few hour later to resume it will almost always not play. Sometimes an error message pops up much later talking about a run time error and a file failing to initialize, next time it happens ill write it down. Have you been successful using pod trapper with large MP3 (+ 4hr) audio book files before ??

I'm not sure I got the logs, can you try sending them over again next time it happens. Make sure to note what you're seeing in the logs (I can't correlate my emails to forum posts). Try to send them as soon after you see it happening as you can...

Hi Brian,

I got some updated info from the RIM guys at the Dev Con, and it wasn't very good info. I'm going to submit a bug to them for it, but that means we'll be waiting for an OS update to fix it.

In the mean time, can we try some stuff to work around it? If you put those files (the eagle 1 and 2) in a playlist in the BBMP and play them, do you get similar behavior?

Works fine in BBMP but restarts at the beginning (does not remember position) if you close app.

Can you try the latest beta? (2.5.3) I put in a wrapper on the media loading stuff, so hopefully I'll have more control.

new beta is better and iut crashes a lot less.......but now it starts each book back at the beginning every time i pause podtrapper. Any ideas ???

Ok, grab another copy of the latest beta, 2.5.9, and see if it helps. If you see it restarting from the beginning with that one, can you shoot me a copy of the logs after seeing it? (And describe what you saw)

Is it still crashing, or other symptoms?

The latest release version finally stabilized both media handlers if you want to try it:

With that version if you still see crashes try toggling the 'Buffer Playback' setting in the Playback settings screen.

If you're still getting crashes, though, my guess is the media and your OS version just aren't getting along. If it's anything other than crashes, though, I may be able to work with it. You can send me a copy of the logs and I can take a look.
