Version 1.8.1 PreReleased and Desktop Dler 1.1

Hi all,

Ok, 1.8.0 introduced some new bugs, hopefully this release fixes those. It should also (in combination with the new desktop downloader) make the pair much more reliable.

Grab them both via the prerelease site and let me know how it goes.

Make sure to exit the desktop downloader before trying to install the new version (making it do so automagically is a surprising amount of work).

I spoke too soon, after 3 hours of testing, not 5 minutes after I post about the new release the desktop downloader started acting up again. <sigh>

FYI: Marcus, you are correct. I still get some io errors when using the new version..

just FYI, 1.8.1 has fixed my downloading issue I had previously posted for 1.8. I will test the video comments I had about 1.7.x earlier
