Thank you. Thought I was going nuts when 2.16 wasn't deleting podcasts after listening.

Quick Q - not sure if this is correct spot but.. how can I automatically be notified of new beta releases? Thanks.

I subscribed to this forum (Announcements). If you go to the forum page, at the bottom there should be a link to "Subscribe Forum". New betas are announced with new threads in this forum, and when you subscribe to the forum you are automatically notified via email when new threads are created.

Unfortunately, this technique also sends email notifications for new posts in existing threads, so you may get more email than you want. If your email provider lets you create complex filters, you can just filter out emails from versatilemonkey.com with the subject [Forum post notification - "Announcements"] (no brackets). The emails you want will have the subject [New topic notification - "Announcements"].

An RSS feed would be nice to have, though.

So far so good. One thing I've noticed is when you start a new episode it takes about 10 seconds for it to actually begin playing. I'm guessing this has something to do with the "delete after listening" fix? If so perhaps you could fork off that process on a separate asynchronous thread? I'm running BBCrackman's V8 Hybrid based on 4.7.0.151 on my Storm.

No, shouldn't be caused by that, probably something else. Anyone else seeing it?

Ask and ye shall receive :) Look for "Smartfeed" at the top of the page.

Yes. I am also seeing the longer delay when starting a pod cast. It seems to happen not only between items in a playlist, but also when starting a pod cast outside of a playlist.

It's not a huge deal, but it is a difference from previous behavior.

RE: Delete after listening now podcast specific setting

Great feature.

However, it doesn't seem to be available under the "Apply Settings to Podcasts" feature, which I rely on since I have a lot of podcasts.

A couple of other things I've noticed:

  • Update times for podcasts always disply AM even when they update in PM time frames
  • Sometimes when you try to manually update a podcast it does not work. But if you exit the program and re-start it you can then manually update the podcast

Edit: Oops I see you have a new version available that fixes my second observation

Whoops, the logic is there I just forgot to actually draw it :)

Thanks, will get that fixed.

Heh, my fault, forgot to post about it. I did a good job of breaking any update after the first one :)

Thanks for pointing that out. Heh, I'm getting enough content at this point that I don't know what's where anymore :)
